How to meet a dog for the first time.
No touch No talk No eye contact.
When you meet a dog for the first time, most of the times nothing will happen to you.
But some of the dogs are more suspicious, and we don't want because a lack of knowledge, one of you will get a bite.
Bite that will cause a lot of pain for the person who was bitten and worse.
You need to know that the bite is probably because of us, and not because the dog who is simply protects himself ...
Therefore it is very important to keep some key rules in order to make good meeting.
1) Do not touch
2) Do not talk
3) Do not make eye contact
In other words, let the dog get close to you, sniff you (do not send your hands, the dog smells alone on your legs) and get to know you - dogs learn the most about us through smell and therefore this is the most important action when they meet someone for the first time!
Only after the dog has sniffed you and feels safe next to you can you approach and caress him.
Of course if the dog with his owner ask the owner about the nature of the dog and whether to approach it or not.
